Recruitment

You are probably wondering: How do I live in a Cooperative House?

The answer is simple. Recruitment. This is the process that potential new members must go through in order to accept a bid from any Women's Cooperative House at Purdue University. This takes place during two weekends at the beginning of the spring semester, sometime in January/February.

During recruitment, potential new members will tour ALL 7 Women's Cooperative Houses. It is important to note that you cannot receive a bid from a house unless you have attended their Formal Recruitment. Dress code for Formal Recruitment should be business casual or even professional. Lot's of girls like to wear dresses, skirts, or pant suits. Don't forget to show us your personality!

After Formal Recruitment, potential new members will be invited back to specific houses to get a deeper perspective and additional conversation with active members of each house. This is a fun way to see which houses you can see yourself living at! The dress code for this Informal Recruitment is casual. You will see many of us wearing a cute sweater with jeans. Dress warm though--it will be Winter!

When this is over, you will rank your choice in houses. You will only be offered a bid from one house.
